This always happens to me even though I try to hold off as long as possible to start packing for Zambia.
Even if I am not sure if I will be traveling to Zambia that year, I inevitably start packing in January.
I put a large suitcase in my room, usually one that has been donated so I can leave it in Zambia, and every time I come across something I think they could use, and I don’t really need, I drop it in the case.
I am sure that we all, in western society, have too much stuff, so why not consider donating it? In our neighbourhood, a lot of people put items out on their boulevard for free. I have gleaned many books, glass bowls and pillows recently. You must be careful not to bring bed bugs into your home, but I think our neighbourhood is pretty safe. Bed bugs don’t like heat, so wash anything in really hot water and then put in a really hot dryer, just in case.
So this year, I have accumulated “Way too much Stuff” to take to Zambia so luckily my traveling companion Eilish has room in her allotted two suitcases to take some items for me.
I am not able to take everything I have saved so some of it I will courier when I send more seeds at Christmas and some will be available for sale at our SEEDS Yard Sale in September so stay tuned!
If you would like to donate any of your “Stuff” for the yard sale
please get in touch. joanne@sendseedstoafrica.org or just drop it off on our front porch.
We are all ready to go tomorrow, Saturday August 1, 2015 for our 3 week visit with lots of exciting things planned.
Stay tuned for the next episodes of our amazing adventure to Zambia Africa!
