The University of Toronto has a wonderful program where people can submit problems they would like solved by the first year engineering students in the school.
SEEDS has submitted projects both in 2015 and 2016 and we are so pleased with the results.
This year we asked the teams to design;
1. A solar powered pump for our Bore hole in Mongu, Barotseland.
2. A solar powered recycling grey water system to water our resource gardens in Mongu, Barotseland.
3. A solar powered Cold Cellar suitable for the Kalahari Dessert to store produce and food goods.
Each team worked very hard and provided invaluable information to SEEDS so we may one day implement their designs at The Silozi Seed Bank & Trees for Elephants projects in Mongu & Kalabo, Barotseland.
I have attached the final designs for anyone interested in helping us implement theses projects.
Thank you so much to all of the teams of which there are too many names to mention but you know who you are.
Please keep in touch as we may need you in the future! Hope to see you all again! Best, Joanne Hutchinson
