I have had the pleasure of meeting 3 students participating in the RGD Designation Designathon and ended up with this amazing art work. Thank you to Tomomi, Ethan and Vicky. You were a great team and did a great job!
During the event, small teams of design students and grads (led by experienced Creative Directors) work with nonprofits and charities, who participate as the client, to design communications projects, such as logos, brochures, invites, social media graphics, small websites and more. The materials created will be the intellectual property of the participating non-profits.
At SEEDS B & B Mongu- Mulopo Flats we have been blessed with a large donated shipping container which we use as storage space. It is located in the entrance of our bed and breakfast but is a bit rusty.
I was fortunate that Hilary Ainsworth contacted me via Linkedin, to ask if Socio-Economic and Environmental Development Solutions (SEEDS) would be interested in participating in this one day event.
So now I hope to go to Mongu Barotseland this fall and paint this beautiful art onto the side of the container so people will know we sell trees. Proceeds of the sale of these trees help support Elephants but I can’t tell you where as I don’t want poachers to find them.
I will show you pictures of the completed project when done, potentially in the fall of 2019.
If anyone is interested in helping us pay for the oil paint ( $250.00) please let me know. It is difficult to get a variety of paint colours in Mongu. When we painted our first sign in 2014 I could only get black & white paint. So I mixed the black & white to make 2 shades of grey and I used green coloured powder that I bought at the market to make the green.
Thanks for reading our blog!
