Socio-Economic And Environmental Development Solutions(SEEDS) hosted a SKATE FOR SEEDS EVENT at the Evergreen Brickworks on Family Day, Feb. 17,2014
There is free public outdoor skating from 11a.m.-4p.m. at the Evergreen Brickworks, 550 Bayview Ave. everyday on a cute little rink and skate rental is available.
This event was to help SEEDS build the Tree nursery in Zambia in April 2014 and send vegetable seeds to Zambia Africa every two months thereafter.
It was great fun on a beautiful sunny day.
You will see Joanne and Chansa with our “BLIMP ” SEEDS T-Shirts over our ski jackets and I don’t know how but we ended up setting up our sign beside Jack Nicholson’s head!
I guess they posted it there as a marker for kids to meet their parents. I didn’t see any other heads around the rink so why his head was there for sure, I will never know!
It was good for a laugh!
I made most of the $42.55 donations by standing beside the table that sold the beer tickets inside the building.
That bar tending I did for all of those years paid off!
Sorcha, our Treasurer, brought her two lovely girls to practice their skating. They have been taking lessons this cold cold winter
Thank you to Chansa( my talented song writer friend) for all of your help. I really appreciate it!
