Even though there has been a drought in many countries of Africa, including Zambia we are still growing!
Near Kalabo, Mwualuka has planted 3257 tomatoe plants in his village of Luoke West. 2000 of those plants are ready now and the rest will be ready in June. Mwualuka will sell the tomatoes right from his farm as people will come to him to buy them. He will sell a box of approximately 200 tomatoes for 100ZK which is equivalent to $13.38 Canadian dollars. Some of the people will walk 9 hours from Kalabo and bring their own dishes or baskets to carry the tomatoes home.
Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures as Mualuka lives in a remote area which is a 10.5 hr paddle away from the nearest small town of Kalabo. Here are some pictures of the area he lives in.

These are some recent pictures from our Resource Trial Gardens and farmers fields on the plain in Mongu.
Unfortunately our pump went in our bore whole so we have just had it repaired. We will be sending a new batch of seeds with in the next two weeks to start growing the crops that like cooler weather like winter squash.
In Mongu we are selling our Pomegranate and Palm trees. We started planting the slow growing Baobab, Black Walnut, Quinene, Murula and Sausage tree seeds.
